Oxford College is led by noted academic leader, teacher and author Douglas Hicks, whose work is supported by outstanding senior administrators, student government leaders, and dedicated alumni.
Douglas Hicks joined Oxford College as dean in 2016. He was previously a professor and senior administrator at Colgate University as well as professor of leadership studies and religion at the University of Richmond’s Jepson School of Leadership Studies. His scholarship focuses on leadership, religion in politics and the workplace, and the ethical dimensions of economic issues.
He received his bachelor’s in economics from Davidson College, a master’s in divinity from Duke University, and a master’s and doctorate in religion from Harvard University. A native of Indianapolis, Hicks is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA).
