Thank you for visiting the Oxford College website. Emory University is unique in offering entering students two opportunities to begin an Emory University education. We invite you to visit and explore the Oxford campus to see for yourself the type of environment your students would enjoy here. As a small liberal arts college, within a major research university, we have the privilege and ability to focus on teaching, faculty/student interaction, as well as offering opportunities for freshmen and sophomores to enhance or develop leadership skills, while building community and living among a diverse group of students. We encourage students to visit both the Atlanta and Oxford campuses, since they will spend time on both, and we welcome you to do the same. Below are some Frequently Asked Questions that may help as you offer guidance to your students regarding Oxford College. Please feel free to contact us if you have other questions or would like to set up a visit.
Sincerely,
Jennie Taylor

How do I check the status of my students application?
Students are encouraged to check their application status via their OPUS account. This account reflects real-time information about their application and is available 24 hours a day. During our peak processing times (October 15-February 15), it may take 2-3 weeks for documents to be updated in our system.
Students may also grant guest access (link "guest access" to page created to go with "Guest Access" word document submitted) to their account for up to 5 people. You may want to ask your student to set you up as a guest on their account. When they set this up, they can specify the access you need, which would include "View Holds/To Do's/Messages" in their Personal Portfolio.
Does Oxford and Emory work together to admit students to the school that is most appropriate?
No. Students who apply to both Oxford College and Emory College will receive a completely independent review and decision from each. There is no disadvantage to applying to both.
Does Oxford review the files of students not accepted to Emory College?
Students who are denied or waitlisted at Emory College may choose to have their Emory College application reviewed by Oxford. They must initiate this review in their OPUS account. Students will then receive an independent review and decision from Oxford, which may be an admit, deny or waitlist. If a student is accepted and deposits at Oxford and is then taken off the Emory College waitlist, they may forward their deposit there.
