Transient Study gives Oxford College students the opportunity to enroll as a guest at another accredited institution in the United States during the summer between their freshmen and sophomore year of study. Students who wish to attend another university (other than Emory College) for summer transient study must meet with their advisor to fill out an Oxford College Summer Transient Application. Please return the completed application, $100 application fee (made payable to Oxford College), and course description(s) to the Office of Enrollment Services, Registrar's Office, no later than April 26, 2013 for transient permission to be mailed to the visiting college or university.
International students who are visa holders and would like to take Transient Study overseas must contact the Center for International Programs Abroad (CIPA) at cipa@emory.edu. The center also has specific information about international summer programs on its website. The petition deadline for International Transient Study 2013 is April 15, 2013.
Please note: Students must enroll in at least a three semester hour course or at least five quarter hour course for transient credit. If the institution awards three semester hours of credit, three semester hours of credit will be awarded to you when your transcript is received with a letter grade of "C" or better. Oxford College does not accept course credit for online coursework. Beginning Summer 2011, Oxford students may only take eight hours of credit as a transient student and a non-refundable application fee of $100 will be required. Please have all transcripts mailed to Oxford College of Emory University, Office of Enrollment Services, Registrar's Office, 122 Few Circle, Oxford, GA 30054 on or before October 1st of the year that transient study was permitted.
