The Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) of Oxford College of Emory University and Emory University's Center for Faculty Development and Excellence (CFDE) hosted the 3rd annual Institute for Pedagogy in the Liberal Arts (IPLA) on the Oxford College Campus, May 12-15, 2009.
Created as a pair of two-day sessions, the Institute offered participants the opportunity to work with experts and scholars in a variety of pedagogical contexts. This year's program sessions was led by
Dr. Patricia Owen-Smith, Carnegie Scholar and Professor of Psychology at Oxford College;
Dr. Pat Marsteller, Professor of Biology and Director of the Center for Science Education at Emory College;
Professor Melissa Wade, Director of Forensics at Emory University; and
Dr. Art Young, the Campbell Professor of English at Clemson University.
The technology sessions were led by the IT professionals with guest presentations from Dr. Ken Carter and Dr. Paul Oser of Oxford College.
