Six incarcerated poets and playwrights use the power of creativity to change the direction of their lives. Their poems and plays reflect hard lives lived in tough environments and their past mistakes while at the same time they negotiate America's overburdened corrections system.

Robby Henson, director of I Come From, will be in attendance and will remain following the screening to conduct a Q&A session with the audience.

This film is part of the 2016-17 Southern Circuit tour of independent films, which Oxford College was selected to be a part of. An initiative of the Atlanta-based arts organization South Arts, Southern Circuit brings the best of independent film to communities across the South. Audiences have seen over 300 films and have engaged filmmakers in post-screening discussions in more than 100 communities across the Southern United States. The tour takes the audience away from their televisions and computers to connect them with independent filmmakers. Southern Circuit transforms watching independent films from a solitary experience into a communal one.
