Student Government

The Student Government Association is the backbone for student involvement at Oxford. As a new freshman, students have th e opportunity to gain a leadership position immediately. Elections for freshman senators are held in September, allowing new students to instantly make a difference on campus. By serving on one of several committees of SGA, one person really can make a difference.

 From The SGA President

Welcome to the 2007 - 2008 Oxford College Student Government Association website. SGA works to insure basic student rights and to respond to the desires, n eeds, and concerns of the general student body. We are composed of a nine member executive board and eighteen senators. However, all students are encouraged and invited to participate. General Assembly meetings are every Thursday at 6:00pm in the Rathskeller in the Student Center. Elections are held twice a year: in September for Freshmen Senators and February for Sophomore Senators and the Executive Board. All student organizations chartered through SGA may request money from the Budget Committee to fund programs for the student body. New clubs may be chartered at the beginning each semester through the Rules Committee. Further details about the SGA may be found at http://www.emory.edu/SGA. All students have copies of the Oxford SGA Constitution in their student handbook. Thank you for your interest, please don't hesitate to contact us with questions.  Check out SGA 2007-2008 Administration Team and The Constitution .

Sincerely,

Sam Skardon, 2007-2008 SGA President
