Big First Half carries Eagles Past TN Temple JV, 81 to 62

With nearly all five starters in double figures, the Eagles used a big first half to soar past the Tennessee Temple JV by a score of 81 to 62, Tuesday night at Williams Gymnasium.

Alex Ordu was the Eagles' top scorer, as he produced a career high 27 points, including 5 rebounds, 3 assist and 8-8 shooting from the free throw line. 

Stephens Simmons and Zachary Lynn both scored 11 points, followed by Kevin Tolbert with 10.

Samuel Kim almost had a double-double with 8 points and 11 rebounds to round out the starters.

Donnell Freeman led Tennessee Temple with 20 points.

The Eagles had a 45 to 26 lead at halftime, as they shot lights out in the first half hitting 18 of 32 shots for 56.3%.  The Eagles tough pressure defense held TN Temple 33.3% shooting for the first half and 39.4% for the game.

The Eagles came out strong in the second half and extended the lead to 59 to 30 before Tennessee Temple settled down and started to cut into the lead.

It was the fifth straight win for the Eagles who are now 9 and 3 on the year.

The Eagles are now off for final exams and will return to action against GCAA conference foe Middle Georgia Tech on Saturday, December 17, in Fort Valley, GA.  Tip off time is 6:30pm.
