A January 29 service in Old Church will conclude Emory University's King Week. Rev. Dr. Bernard Lafayette of Candler School of Theology will give the keynote address, joining students and others in honoring the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Making the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday a day on, not a day off, has been long been a focus at Oxford College. Oxford's observance of the holiday honoring Dr. King began on Saturday, January 19, with work in a local community garden and continued on Monday in a local neighborhood.
Spring semester 2013 has begun at Oxford College, highlighted by the opening of a newly restored classroom building and the launch of the first sophomore honor seminars, an enriching extension of Oxford's general education program.
