Oxford falls to Georgia Perimeter CollegeNovember 15, 2011
The Oxford Eagles were overmatched in size as the GPC Jaguars produced a starting front line of 6-11, 6-8 and 6-7. The Jaguars ruled the boards outrebounding the Eagles 51 to 36 and getting 16 second chance points. The Eagles just could not get anything going early and trailed 50 to 26 at halftime as GPC cruised to victory. The Jaguars held Oxford to 26 percent shooting from the field for the night and produced 19 Oxford turnovers. "We just could not hit our open shots and match up against their size, and against talented teams like GPC that formula is not going to allow for us to be successful," commented Coach Stubbs. Zachary Carlson scored a career high off the bench and led Oxford in scoring with 9 points, followed by Evan Dunwoodie with 8 points. Oxford is now 3 and 2 on the young season and look to get back on the winning side of things as they play Wednesday, November 16, away at Bryan College JV. This will be the 5th straight road game for the Eagles. Tip off time is 7:00pm.
