SMART Boards in the ClassroomMay 28, 2012
During the Spring semester, Frank Maddox, associate professor of economics continued his hands-on exploration of the instructional technologies available to Oxford faculty. Besides using the i>clicker classroom response system, Camtasia Studio video editing tool, and the BlackBoard learning management system, Professor Maddox also found that the dual collaborative SMART Boards in his classroom encouraged greater focus, participation, and interaction from his students. Being one of the first faculty on campus to be exposed to the SMART Meeting Pro software also allowed Maddox to take full advantage of the dual SMART Board setup. For more details, see the Emory Report, "Economics professor sold on Smart Board". Oxford faculty can contact the Faculty Technology Development Center (FTDC) for assistance or ideas on how to integrate these and other instructional technologies into their classroom.
