Women's Soccer Headed To NJCAA Playoffs!November 01, 2009
The Oxford College Women's soccer team is headed back to the NJCAA playoffs for the fifth time in six years. The Eagles struggled through injuries and a lack of depth for most of the season but through hard work and determination persevered to secure a playoff spot as Region 17 champions. The Eagles went into their final game of the season with a must win against South Georgia College, which turned out to be just that, a 3-0 victory to clinch a 6-6-1 record. The Eagles will now travel to New Jersey for the District Tournament on November 6 and 7. This will be the second year in a row that the Women's Soccer Team has moved on to the District playoffs. Leading the regular season charge for the Eagles was Taylor Tyger who had 34 points in just 13 games (14 goals and 6 assists). Hannah Hooten finished with 17 points (7 goals and 3 assists) and Jade Ah-Low had 15 points (5 goals and 5 assists). Congratulation to the Eagles and we wish them all the best in the National Tournament. |
