2024 First Year Survey

A key aspect of the undergraduate experience at Oxford College is working closely with your faculty advisor. Your faculty advisor will be the instructor of your Discovery Seminar (DS 101Q) course. Your academic advisor is trained to guide you through your general education program, offer advice and suggestions on career planning, and support all of your endeavors here. They will also work with you on your Milestone Capstone Project in your final semester of study!

The information you provide below will help your academic advisor prepare to better assist you as you work together. All of our advisors are trained to work with all students, regardless of potential majors. You will meet with your new academic advisor during New Student Orientation in August.

Please fill out this survey yourself. (Parents, if you're reading this, encouraging your student to fill out this form to the best of their ability will be a first step towards functioning independently in college.)

About You

Academic Goals

As a first year student you do not officially declare your intended major. All Oxford students are working towards an Associate of Arts Degree; however, your faculty advisor will want to know more about your academic interests. Students will officially declare their major for Emory College (or business or nursing) in their final semester of study at Oxford and after they have completed all components of Oxford's General Education Program. If you're pre-business, pre-nursing, or pre-engineering, please indicate that interest below. And if you are undecided about your intended major, THAT IS OKAY! You can use your time at Oxford to explore a variety of disciplines!
