As part of the foundation’s College-Ready team, Rivero focuses on systems grant making that advances the mission of raising the national high school graduation rate and helping all students—regardless of race or family income—graduate prepared for college.

Prior to joining the foundation, Rivero was a grant officer for the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation and affiliated foundations. She worked for the Latin American Association as the director of education and as a program manager for the Whitefoord Elementary School–based health clinic. She’s a graduate of Emory University, where she earned a BBA in finance and a master’s of public health as well as an MBA from Georgia State University.

Rivero served on the Emory Alumni Board, including a term as president. She has a strong record of public service, which includes serving in the Peace Corps in Honduras; coaching a youth soccer team; and participating in the American-German Marshall fellowship.

She was elected an alumni trustee in 2007 and a term trustee in 2012.

Village Photographers will photograph graduates as they cross the stage and receive their diplomas. A posed individual photo also will be taken of graduates as they exit the stage. Free proofs of these photos will be sent by mail and email to graduates and their families within one week of the ceremony. Print packages start at under $10; however, there is no obligation to buy.

To ensure that Village Photographers has your correct address information, please visit their site and click the blue “Sign up for Graduation Proofs” button. Multiple email and mailing addresses may be registered online to allow family and friends to receive a paper proof in the mail and an email with a direct link to the graduate’s photos.
