Arts at Oxford

Arts at Oxford.
Let your imagination guide you.

Oxford College's arts programs bring together students, faculty, staff, guest artists, and audiences. No matter your means of artistic expression, we'll stir your imagination. Our students have many opportunities to participate in artistic presentations regardless of potential major or whether they're enrolled in arts classes. You'll perform in plays, perform in and choreograph dances, sing in the Oxford Chorale, play instruments in chamber ensembles, create musical compositions, and exhibit visual arts. Most students who participate in the arts at Oxford do so to expand their total educational experience. Tarbutton Performing Arts Center serves as the hub of performing arts. Tarbutton houses our music, choral classroom, rehearsal rooms, art and gallery space, along with our black box theater.

Oxford provides opportunities for students to study, build, and perform plays and musicals as early as their first semester.

We bring independent filmmakers to campus and introduce our community to films with unique perspectives. Oxford courses help our students become discerning consumers, interpreters, and producers of one of our most influential art forms.

At Oxford, you can study music as an academic discipline or take part in co-curricular activities such as Oxford Chorale or the Oxford Chamber Ensemble.

The study of dance involves the total exploration of the self — emotional, intellectual, and physical.

Visual Arts

Visual and studio arts at Oxford provide opportunities to interpret the imagery that surrounds you. You can explore the works, meanings, and abstract foundations of the visual arts.
