Choose Your Own Adventure | 3:00-4:00 p.m.

The afternoon (3-4pm) is designed to allow you access to sessions lead by our very own Oxford professors and instructors or to let you explore Oxford College your way. We encourage you to grab a bite to eat at the food trucks located behind Seney Hall.

Join Dr. Alexandria Orozco, Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology, for a dynamic look at how anthropology helps us understand concepts at the intersection of biology and culture in an immersive learning experience. Learn how Oxford students engage with anthropology to solve real world problems.

Dr. LaTonia Taliaferro-Smith, Associate Teaching Professor of Biology, Director of Undergraduate Laboratories, and Faculty Coordinator for Summer Programs, will highlight the importance of student research at Oxford and share opportunities for students to get involved across disciplines. Her own research examines the molecular mechanisms that regulate the metastatic behavior of triple-negative breast cancers, an aggressive disease that disproportionately impacts African-American and Hispanic women.

Discover how Oxford College helps students connect their interests with real-world opportunities. Dr. Bridgette Gunnels, Director of the Center for Pathways and Purpose (CPP), will share how Oxford's hybrid industry/academic programs like the Impact Lab and SideHustle help student center discovery from year one. Exploring the world through Global Oxford and preparing students to engage in careers through in-house internships, the CPP is ready to help students turn curiosity into experience.

Join one of our farmers for a guided tour of the Oxford Organic Farm. Learn how students engage in hands-on sustainability, see what’s growing this season, and discover the farm’s vital role in campus and community life.
