Setting a leading example.

Oxford College is led by noted academic leader, teacher and author Douglas Hicks, whose work is supported by outstanding senior administrators, student government leaders, and dedicated alumni.

dean hicksDouglas Hicks joined Oxford College as dean in 2016. He was previously a professor and senior administrator at Colgate University as well as professor of leadership studies and religion at the University of Richmond’s Jepson School of Leadership Studies. His scholarship focuses on leadership, religion in politics and the workplace, and the ethical dimensions of economic issues.

He received his bachelor’s in economics from Davidson College, a master’s in divinity from Duke University, and a master’s and doctorate in religion from Harvard University. A native of Indianapolis, Hicks is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Senior Leadership

Oxford College Dean Douglas Hicks is assisted in his administration by deans and associate deans who oversee academic affairs, enrollment services, campus life, operations, finance, resource planning, advancement and information technology.


Oxford Board of Counselors

The Board of Counselors gives advice on issues of high priority to the college, addressing them in ways beneficial to the dean, his administration, and the entire college community.

Oxford empowers its students to be leaders. SGA officers are elected by their peers and given the mission of addressing student concerns and serving as liaisons to college administration.
