Munir Meghjani became President of the Emory Alumni Board (EAB) in September 2021 and served until August 2023. A recognized leader, he was named to the inaugural class of Emory's 40 Under Forty for his impact and contributions. His deep commitment to Emory spans over a decade, including eight years on the Oxford College Alumni Board and a term on the Annual Giving Board. Since joining the EAB in 2015, Munir has played a vital role in governance and alumni engagement, serving as co-chair for alumni representation on the University Alumni DEI Task Force, chair of the EAB Advancement Committee, and currently, as a member of the EAB Nominating and Governance Committee. More recently, he assumed the presidency of the Emory Asian Alumni Network, continuing his dedication to fostering meaningful connections within the Emory community.
A progressive thinker and social entrepreneur, Munir leverages his professional experience and deep community involvement to build bridges and drive change. A serial entrepreneur and commercial real estate broker, he is equally committed to the nonprofit sector, focusing on arts, education, interfaith collaboration, and social justice. He serves on and chairs multiple boards across the region, often paving the way for others as a trailblazer. Munir’s passion for creating sustainable solutions to societal challenges has also led him to engage in local and national politics, advocating for impactful change.
As an artist and creator, Munir uses his platform to spark social justice conversations and inspire action. His dedication has earned him numerous honors and awards in both the private and nonprofit sectors. Guided by a personal mantra—"I can’t do all the service the world needs, but the world needs all the service I can do!"—he continues to be a force for positive change.
Munir graduated from Emory University in 2010 with a B.A. in Psychology, with additional studies in Sociology and Philosophy.
