General Programmatic Questions

No. These courses are non-credit and non-graded, so students can explore subjects deeply without the stress of grades or transcripts.

Students do not receive a letter grade.

Yes, students may attend multiple sessions if selected.

Students can choose from a variety of engaging liberal arts courses taught by Oxford College faculty. Course topics change each year and are designed to spark curiosity, encourage discussion, and build critical thinking skills. 

FERPA is a federal law that protects the privacy of student records. Your student will need to sign a FERPA waiver before or upon arrival to allow you access to their records. 

Students must follow their high school’s dress code. For site visits, business casual attire is encouraged. Students in lab-based courses are required to wear closed-toe shoes.

All courses take place on the Oxford College campus in Oxford, Georgia.

Georgia summers are hot and humid. Students should drink plenty of water and dress in light, breathable layers.

It is highly recommended to bring a laptop, tablet, or mobile device. However, students are responsible for their own devices.
 

Visits from family or friends are strongly discouraged due to the program’s short duration. 

Yes, the program includes fun and engaging activities during evenings and weekends.

All off-campus trips are chaperoned for student safety.

Absolutely! The program offers leadership workshops, creative arts, wellness activities, and weekend excursions to provide a well-rounded and memorable summer experience. 

Admission and Application Process

Applications are submitted online. You’ll need to provide application essays responses (500-750 words), two letters of recommendation, and additional supplemental materials. Since applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, we encourage you to apply early. 

The program is open current juniors (rising 12th graders) – student entering their senior year – who show academic motivation and are ready for college-level learning. 

International students who are currently attending high school in the United States are eligible to apply. 

Yes. Space is limited and fills quickly. Check the website for the most current deadline and apply as early as possible to secure your spot. 

Transcripts are required for all applicants. You must submit 9th and 10th grade transcripts (unofficial copies are acceptable) and your junior year class schedule. Standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, IB, etc.) are optional but must include your name, test date, and individual scores. 

You will receive an admission decision via email within 3-4 weeks after submitting a complete application and application fee. 

Participation in the program does not guarantee admission to Emory University or Oxford College. Admissions decisions are made independently based on each institution’s criteria.

Great question! Here are a few tips to help you get ready: 

  • Review the course descriptions ahead of time to get excited about your classes.

  • Practice good time management – you'll have more independence, so it planning your day helps.

  • Brush up on your academic skills, especially reading, writing, and discussion-based learning.

  • Pack thoughtfully – bring items that help you feel comfortable and focused, like a favorite book, journal, or study tools.

  • Stay open-minded and curious! This is your chance to explore new ideas, meet new people, and grow in a college setting.

Cost/Financial Aid/Scholarships

The total cost is $4,700. This includes tuition, housing, meals during the program, and all academic and co-curricular excursions. Please note that personal expenses, travel to and from campus, and the $75 application fee are not included in this total.

A non-refundable deposit of $350 is required to confirm your spot in the program. This amount is applied toward your total program cost. 

No. All course material will be provided. 

Yes. All meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—are included from the program’s start date through the final day. Any meals during travel days or off-campus visits not part of the program is the student's responsibility. 

All transportation for academic and co-curricular excursions is covered. Transportation to and from campus at the start and end of the program is not included. 

We recommend bringing additional funds for souvenirs, snacks, personal items, and any other optional expenses not covered by the program. 

Refunds (excluding the non-refundable $75 application fee and the $350 acceptance deposit fee) may be available if a student withdraws before a specified deadline. Please refer to the program website or contact the office directly for the full refund policy and timeline. 

Once admitted, payment instructions will be sent to the email provided in your application. Payments are typically made through the program’s secure online portal. 

Residence Life

Students live in residence halls on Oxford’s historic campus. They participate in community-building activities, and get a preview of college life in a safe, supportive environment. 

All meals are served in the campus dining hall, offering a variety of options to accommodate different dietary needs and preferences. 

Students have access to a game and media room, TV lounge, laundry room, and other shared common areas. 

Check-in details, including date, time, and location, will be provided after acceptance into the program. 

Yes. All students must be in their rooms by 11:00 PM. Room checks are conducted nightly by residential staff. 

No. Students should bring: 

  • Twin XL sheets, pillow, and blanket 
  • Towels and toiletries 
  • Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes (for labs) 
  • A reusable water bottle 
  • Academic supplies (notebooks, pens, laptop or tablet) 
    A full packing list will be shared after acceptance. 

To encourage new connections and a full college experience, roommate requests are not guaranteed. If you have specific needs, please contact the program team—we will do our best to accommodate special circumstances. 

Yes. Students have access to the gym during supervised program hours only. 

Students can use their free time to study, complete assignments, attend trips, socialize, and make lasting memories through various evening and weekend activities. 

No. All off-campus trips are chaperoned for student safety.

The student-to-RA ratio is 10 to 1, ensuring a supportive and well-supervised residential experience. 

Safety/Security

Yes. The safety and well-being of our students is a top priority. The program adheres to Emory University’s health and safety protocols, which include: 

  • 24/7 residential staff presence
  • Access to campus health services
  • Emergency response procedures
    Additional health and safety measures may be implemented based on current public health guidance. 

Students are not permitted to leave campus unsupervised. All off-campus activities are organized and chaperoned by program staff.
