The OxHub: Ways to stay active at Oxford

Are you looking for ways to stay active on campus? From our outdoor recreation programs to group fitness activities, discover fun and easy ways to boost your energy and well-being between classes.
We all know it’s easy to get immersed in the fast pace of college life. After late-night study sessions and back-to-back classes, most of us prefer to relax rather than engage in competitive workouts during our downtime.
Whether you prefer a solo activity or something more relaxed or want to explore our beautiful community, our campus offers many ways to stay active. The Center for Healthful Living promotes health and well-being through educational programs that encourage frequent physical activity and informed lifestyle choices. Some of those programs that are offered to students include:
Outdoor Rec Activities

Bike and equipment rentals
If you love outdoor activities but don’t have the space in your room or want to commit to a long-term purchase, take advantage of the bike and equipment rental programs on campus. Bike Oxford offers bikes and bike locks for free on a first-come, first-served basis for students, faculty, and staff. In addition to this, you can now utilize the new RecRe boxes around campus. RecRe offers free rentals and other campus resources.

Walking Trails
Looking for a quiet spot to think or need a break from studying? The trails offer the perfect escape. It’s a great way to stay active and step away from your usual routine while enjoying nature.
Group Fitness Activities
Group fitness classes are an excellent way to stay active, meet new people, and have fun! We have a variety of classes including Yoga, Zumba, Spin/Cycle classes, and more. These sessions are designed to accommodate all fitness levels and are perfect for students looking for motivation in a supportive environment.

OxWell
One exciting new initiative on campus that many of you should know about is OxWell! OxWell is designed to unite students in a way that prioritizes well-being and community by creating a space where health and wellness aren’t about performance but about fostering connections and supporting each other’s mental health. OxWell empowers students to cultivate healthy lifestyles, build resilience, and achieve personal success. OxWell includes activities that allow students to experiment, practice new habits, or reinforce existing ones. These can take many forms, such as study breaks, challenges/contests, special meals, workshops, and speakers.
