Oxford Severe Weather Update

Oxford Severe Weather Update

Emory University has canceled all sponsored activities scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10, due to the potential for inclement weather because of Hurricane Isaias.

The forecast from the National Weather Service puts metro Atlanta under a threat for heavy rain, flash flooding, strong winds and the potential for tornadoes. Forecasters predict hazardous road conditions, and everyone is encouraged to remain at home for the duration of the storm. High winds could lead to downed trees and the loss of power.

Please find below several updates on Oxford College operations.

Shuttles: Oxford Shuttles for Friday, 10/9 and Saturday, 10/10
  • Oxford shuttles will run as scheduled through Friday evening with the last ATL departure from OXF at midnight.
  • Shuttles for Saturday are all canceled.
  • Updates and alerts will be posted in TripShot.
Dining: Dining Operations will remain operational, as planned, during the weekend. OFK and Oxpresso are closed for fall break, but the dining hall is open as usual.

Buildings: The Library will remain open on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m., as planned, unless staffing is affected due to the weather. Other buildings will be accessible via card access throughout the weekend.
