Women’s tennis and men’s soccer teams win Academic Team of the Year Awards
The award is given to the team with the highest GPA in each sport.
Oxford women's tennis and men's soccer teams were each named 2022 Academic Team of the Year for their sport by the National Junior College Athletic Association. The award recognizes the team with the highest GPA in each sport.
"This is an amazing accomplishment for both teams," said Roderick Stubbs, Oxford’s Athletic Director. "We value academics first, and this award exemplifies that value. Not only have both teams put in the work in the classroom, but they have also succeeded in their sport. A huge thank you to coaches Greg Moss-Brown and Pernilla Hardin for their continued support to the student-athletes."
Oxford's other teams also performed well in the classroom: For the 10th consecutive year all varsity sports programs maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher.
