On April 25, the Oxford community will unite to recognize innovation, research, and creativity across disciplines with the annual Celebration of Scholarship and Creative Expression (CSCE) event - highlighting the academic, artistic, and collaborative achievements of Oxford’s faculty, staff, and students.

Launched in 2005 as Inspired Performance, CSCE featured faculty and staff bodies of work ranging from published articles, conference papers, and other pedagogical initiatives. The event later merged with the student showcase program to become CSCE under the Oxford Library’s sponsorship. With the addition of the student showcase, students now had the opportunity to present their research projects in collaboration with a faculty mentor.  "The scope of the event has gradually been evolving and now includes a writing showcase, music showcase, and visual arts portion," says Regina Barrett, Director of Programs, Academic Affairs, and Curriculum Coordinator.

This year's celebration will feature work from nearly 40 faculty and staff members presenting more than 100 unique projects.  With 152 students currently enrolled and more expected to join in the upcoming days, approximately 200 students are estimated to participate in the event, marking another exciting year of partnership and creativity.

Organizers like Barrett are excited about the growing involvement and how student engagement increases yearly.

"This event offers students a wonderful opportunity to share their talents and knowledge with the wider Oxford community,"

Regina Barrett, Director of Programs, Academic Affairs, and Curriculum Coordinator
The enthusiasm, paired with the supportive environment of CSCE, assists in creating a nurturing atmosphere that celebrates Oxford's creativity and highlights the unique talents of each contributor.
